Accessibility

We want Sunday7 to work for everyone in your Circle. Here’s where it stands, honestly.

What we aim for

Sunday7 targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the standard most accessibility law points at, and it is the bar we test against.

We have not been independently audited. Nobody has certified this app.

What has actually been tested

Automated testing with axe-core at phone width, in light and in dark: every page you can reach without signing in, and every signed-in screen filled with sample data, because the test cannot sign in. On 30 September 2026 they reported no violations at WCAG 2.1 A and AA.

Colour contrast was measured for every piece of text on every screen, in dark and in light, on 1 October 2026, after Sunday7 switched to dark by default. All of it met the ratios AA asks for.

Keyboard focus is visible throughout, every form field has a label, and every button that shows only an icon has a name a screen reader can read.

With Reduce Motion turned on, nothing slides, zooms or bounces. Movement becomes a fade or a cut.

Nothing needs a gesture: moving between photos works by swiping, with the arrow keys, or with the Previous and Next buttons.

Photos

When you build your week, you can describe each photo in a line, and friends who use VoiceOver hear it read aloud with the photo. Descriptions are optional, so a photo without one is read as whose it is and where it sits in the week.

What has not been tested

The signed-in screens were tested with sample data, not a real account. A state the sample didn’t include hasn’t been checked.

No testing has been done with real users of assistive technology. Automated tools catch perhaps a third of what matters; the rest needs people.

Known gaps

Automated tools can’t test gestures, so those were checked by reading the code, not by a person using a switch or VoiceOver.

Sunday7 is built for a phone held in one hand. It works on a tablet and a desktop browser, but the layout is not designed for them.

Tell us

If something here does not work for you, write to hello@sunday7.app and say what you were trying to do and what happened. It goes to a person, not a queue. Say what you use — VoiceOver, a switch, larger text — and it helps a lot.
